Spectracare (Pty) Ltd. analyses used lubricants to identify abnormal wear of oil-wetted components (engines, gearboxes, hydraulic systems etc.) and to monitor the oil condition. For nearly a decade, Spectracare has worked with South African maintenance professionals in developing effective condition monitoring programmes, which can:

  • Predict problems caused by excessive wear well in advance of imminent failure.
  • Reduce unscheduled downtime by allowing you to plan corrective maintenance before damage occurs.
  • Allow you to monitor maintenance and operating conditions to evaluate and compare oils and equipmentbr>

By using modern equipment and technology, Spectracare (Pty) Ltd.'s professional staff is able to detect and identify potential failures and recommend action to prevent major failures and downtime.

Worldwide results show that oil analysis predicts failures and eliminates 85% of on-the-road breakdowns of transport trucks and industrial machinery.

ROUTINE OIL ANALYSIS
This test is for petrol/diesel engines, clutch gearboxes, diffs, earthmoving/heavy-duty equipment and off road equipment etc.

SPECTRACARE IS ABLE TO OFFER THEIR CUSTOMERS A WIDE RANGE OF PROFILES (SERIES OF TEST) TO SUIT THEIR NEEDS

WEAR DEBRIS ANALYSIS/PARTICLE COUNT (BY PORE BLOCKING METHOD)

Wear debris Analysis is a procedure that monitors and trends machinery condition through an empirical measurement of the relative amount of ferrous and non-ferrous material present in the lubricant. The underlying principal of Wear Debris Analysis is that the wear debris founding a lubricant will form part of size distrabution that changes progressively as the surface deterioration increases. Wear Debris Analysis is unique in it's capability to monitor and trend the concentration of particles larger than 10 microns that provide the earliest indication of abnormal wear. In addition Wear Debris Analysis is able to provide information on the mechanism or wear which most other condition monitoring technologies overlook.

TRAINING
Spectracare (Pty) Ltd. offers training in oil analysis as well as the interpretation of test results. Courses are held once a month on site at Spectracare (Pty) Limited Laboratory.

REPORT DELIVERY
Reports can be delivered, faxed, downloaded via in-house software or emailed to customers. A hard copy of all results is sent via the mail but should a critical result need to be communicated to a customer it is faxed immediately after the diagnosis of the sample.

COMPUTER SOFTWARE
We have available a uniquely designed windows based computer software program to meet the specific needs of Spectracare (Pty) Ltd. clients. It allows customers to recieve their Spectracare (Pty) Ltd. results by e-mail and to manage their oil analysis program from their own computer.

The user friendly software can be used to view results, print reports and create charts and graphs in Microsoft Excel.
